A summer afternoon at Paul's spot

2012 August 17

It is a while since my last Journal entry at the end of June and the British summertime has given us a very mixed bag of weather with the wettest May to July since records began. It has been difficult at times to keep Paul's flowers looking fresh in such windy and rainy conditions but fortunately August has been more like summer should be. This afternoon has been beautiful and I have taken fresh flowers to Paul's spot. The Union Jacks on the memorial behind Paul's, put there to commemorate the recent London 2012 Olympic Games, reminded me of how much Paul was looking forward to the Olympics and I am sure he would have spent time at Hyde Park, enjoying the atmosphere and joining in the celebrations as Team GB put up some great performances which were being shown on giant TV screens in the park.
