Remember Me This Way

"Remember Me This Way" Now I've come to the end of my journey And travelled my very last mile, Just forget if you can that I ever frowned And remember only my smile. Forget unkind words I have spoken, But remember the good I have done. Forget that I ever had heartache And remember I've had loads of fun. Forget that I've stumbled and blundered And sometimes I fell by the way. Remember I've fought some hard battles And won at the end of the day. Then forget to grieve for my parting, I would not want you sad or to cry. But in summer just gather some flowers And remember the place where I lie. Then come in the stillness of evening When the sun paints the sky in the west. Stand for a few moments beside me And remember only my best. Paul loved to express himself in verse. I am sure that he would agree with the sentiments of this poem which are so appropriate for Paul. An abridged version of this poem is inscribed on Paul's beautiful memorial stone.
