Mother's Day

2010 March 14

This time last year I received a lovely Mother's Day card from Paul and I have felt very upset and tearful today. I took some flowers to Paul this morning and our neighbour Ann from Paul's childhood days in Ravensdale, Gt Clacton had left a pot of pretty primulas and a message for Paul which I have added to the "Thoughts" link. There was also a bunch of tulips, but with no message. I have spent this afternoon and evening at Tracey's with Karin, Nicola and families which brightened my day. The girls gave me lovely Mother's Day cards and gifts. Nicola and Jim had been to the garden centre and bought me loads of plants for my new garden to add to the plants they bought me for Christmas. Hopefully the weather will allow me to prepare the borders for a planting session within the next week or two. The rose plants I ordered for each of the girls and myself arrived from the rose grower's a few days ago. Named "Remember Me", we are each going to plant one in our gardens to commemorate Paul's birthday this coming Thursday, 18th March. I also bought an extra rose named "Child Of My Heart" in memory of Paul. This rose is unique to the rose grower in Norfolk and was introduced in 2008 for the East Anglian Childrens' Hospices who will benefit from sales. (I have since found out that the tulips were left by Paul's friend Billy)
