I have bought the just released "Helping Haiti Everybody Hurts" CD featuring various artists. VAT has been waived by the government and the original artists R.E.M. have also agreed to waive all royalties. Proceeds from the single will be shared by the Sun's Helping Haiti Appeal Fund and the Disasters Emergency Committee, to provide funding for the massive aid programme, which is needed to help the many thousands of people whose lives have been devastated by the earthquake. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western World, with a history of political violence. Harrowing images from the aftermath of the latest disaster to hit the people of Haiti are extremely distressing. Paul felt very deeply for the underprivileged of this world and condemned the injustices and suffering endured by so many. Family and friends will know how strongly Paul would voice his opinion on issues he felt passionate about. Like me, he would be greatly saddened by the recent events in Haiti and I do hope that "Everybody Hurts" will sell many millions, to help fund the vital aid effort which is at last beginning to reach the starving and homeless.
