Paul's home

1993 February

Paul moved to London in 1991 and lived in bedsits until February 1993 when he was allocated a flat in North Chingford by Waltham Forest Council. Paul was so happy to have his own front door at last, in a very pleasant area. In recent years, he redecorated the flat, buying new carpet, furniture and window blinds. A new kitchen, bathroom and double glazed windows and doors were also fitted and Paul was very proud of his home. However, he loved the Andalucia region of Spain, its culture and climate. His greatest wish was the hope that his health would improve to enable him to live and work in Spain. He took Spanish lessons to improve his chances of getting a job, hopefully in the travel industry. Paul and I were going to spend a week in Jerez this summer, when he was going to act as my 'tour guide' and show me the surrounding cities and countryside. We were so looking forward to it but I'm hoping to go one day to see for myself why Paul loved Andalucia so much and wanted to make it his home.
