Whilst looking through my DIY manual, I came across an old, yellowing East Essex Gazette newspaper cutting between the pages, reporting on the local heats of the 1985 KP Hula Hoops National Championship held at Clacton Pier, which brought back happy memories of Paul. Following the regional finals at Norwich which Paul attended with sister Nicola, Paul and I travelled by train to Derby in September for an overnight stay at the Midland Hotel before being taken by coach to Alton Towers for the national final. Although Paul did not win, we had a great time, also enjoying some of the rides at the park. There are photos of Paul at the final on Page 3 of his "Picture Gallery".
